Undoubtedly, this time is frightening for all. It’s not just the disease that people have to save themselves from; in fact, the economic crisis worldwide is creating another level of Stress for them. The spread of the virus has already affected the day-to-day routine. The worldwide pandemic is far more than a health crisis: it is affecting both societies and economies at their core. However, the impact of the pandemic is different for each country. Some reports say that this pandemic will most likely increase poverty and inequalities on a global scale.

Research shows, people with existing mental health conditions will experience an increase in psychological distress and trauma symptoms. Increased unemployment worldwide is causing people to feel distressed and depressed. Many people have lost their jobs; only some of them are able to cope with the situation. These are those who either have a backup to sustain the crisis or the ones who have diverted themselves to learn digital skill sets and start their online business. Such people are less in number, more and more people are stressed due to losing their jobs. They are not able to cope up with the situation, which is further deteriorating their conditions.

Another impact of the pandemic is on the personal relationship of people. Of course, the kind of lifestyle we all were living before pandemic was absolutely different. Most people were accustomed to the outside world, and living inside the home is not easy for such people. Due to the pandemic, we are restricted to our homes, we cannot party, or travel to our favourite places, which is only adding to the Stress. Now we are compelled to spend more time at home with family, thereby making relations bitter. Of course, there is an old adage that says, “Empty mind devil’s house.” This maxim fits perfectly in the present situation; people have less work, which means more time to think negatively and create negative situations for themselves.

Needless to say, we are going through the toughest time ever. But we are sure to tackle this as well. We will surely come out as a winner, as this pandemic is not the first-of-its-kind occurrence in human history.
